  • Middle school girls soccer Middle school girls soccer won their first game today 6-0 against Perth Amboy. Goals were scored by Alexa Noon,Jayana Corea, Trinty Upton,Bryonna Worthy, and Olivia Wojtowics. Great game girls.

  • Security Drill Today Today our school completed one of the state mandated security drills; the drill today was a lockdown. The drill was completed successfully and the students continued with their normal school day once it was over. If you have any questions about our security drills, please feel free to contact the school.

  • Chorus and Band It's not too late to join the after school band and or chorus program! Rehearsals for band are every Tuesday after school, and Chorus rehearsals are every Thursday after school. If you missed the interest meeting, don't worry! You can still join! If you're interested and would like more details, please see Ms. Alcuri in the music room (right by the cafeteria!) for more information!

    Media Center Question of the Month for September:

    Which day of the week is the only day with an anagram?

    What is the anagram?
    Attention all juniors and seniors, the YMCA is looking for volunteers for their after care program which runs from 3 to 6:30 pm. The hours are flexible and you will receive community service. See Mrs. Jurgens or your guidance counselor for contact info.
    The YMCA is hosting a special event on November 22 and they are looking for students to volunteer. This is a great opportunity to get community service hours. Come to guidance for the volunteer form or more information.
    There will be a GSA meeting directly after school in Ms. Coppola's room on Wednesday, September 24.
    Attention: Junior and Seniors; anyone interested in a teaching career or working with the public? The Safety Ambassador Program needs new volunteers to teach Safety Lessons to our second graders. You will be trained by the Emergency room Trauma nurses from Robert Wood Johnson Hosp. Anyone interested please submit a written request to Mr. Gore
    Attention all 9-12 graders: There will be a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 25th directly after school in room 108 for ANYONE interested in joining the cheerleading squad for the 2014-2015 season. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Doherty.
    Attention Class of 2018 officers, there will be a class meeting on Wednesday, September 24th in room 113 after school.
    Any high school boy interested in signing up for baseball in the spring. Please meet in the gym at 2:50 today to sign up and receive important information about this season.
    The class of 2018 will be meeting on Wednesday after school with the officers to discuss upcoming events. Please be prompt. Thank you Mrs. Soares and Mrs. Alfaro
    Student Council meeting for all grades will be on Wednesday a 2:40 in Room 439.
    The Boys Varsity Soccer Team notched a come back win over Woodbridge Academy 3-1, bringing their record to 6-2. Gustavo Pena score 2 goals while Mike Sauls added one. Riley Rone, Justin Rios and Julian Munoz added assists.
    Mr. Wohlt would like to applaud the Girls Varsity Tennis team participation in the GMC Girls Varsity Tennis tournament yesterday. Our school's First Singles player (Mary Whiteley), First Doubles team (Katlyn Luisi/Michalina Modzelewska), and Second Doubles team (Talia Ramos/Amberly Mount) won their first round matches, but lost in the second round. Go Lady Guvs!
    Attention Juniors: There will be an after school meeting in room 438. Please plan to attend.

    The boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Thompson Park Class Meet on Saturday at Thompson Park in Jamesburg. The team had one of the best showings of any small school in the meet, bringing home 3 medals. Patrick Walsh placed 7th out of almost 140 runners in a time of 17:53 which is a new official school record. Joey Wells placed 20th in a time of 18:39. Ben Henry was 17th in the freshman boys race, covering the 2.5 mile course in 14:37. Veronica Yang ran under 20 minutes in the 2.5 mile freshman girls race and Sydney DeVoe had her best race of the season so far, out kicking two girls at the finish. Other good performances were turned in by Brandon Kubinak, Khyrin Jenkins and Vinny Burns. The team takes on two time defending division champs Dunellen at the Waterfront Park tomorrow.
    South Amboy boys soccer beat Piscataway Tech 2-1 on Friday afternoon to bring their record to 5-2. Kenny Vergara and Gustavo Pena scored for the Guvs while Justin Rios and Conrad Grygoriew added assists. The boys are back in action today at 4pm at the County Park against Woodbridge Academy.
