Dear Parents/Guardians:

Today we had an assembly for a fundraiser that we are beginning today.  The fundraiser is for an organization called Jar of Hope, more information can be found about the organization at the following website: Jar of Hope. Jar of Hope raises money to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy or DMD.   We are encouraging all the students in grade K-5 to participate if they can.  We, as a school, will be doing the push-up challenge on December 11, between 1:30 and 2:15.  Each student will do 10 push-ups, we are asking them to get sponsors for the 10 push-ups, whether it is a $1 per push-up or $.25 per push up, every little bit helps. The children will be bringing home the fundraiser envelopes by Tuesday, 11/28.

We did show the students a video about 2 boys who have DMD.  The video can be seen here:

To coincide with the monetary fundraiser we are also holding a clothing drive to benefit Jar of Hope. Gently used clothing items can be dropped off in bags to our school.  The gently used items to be collected are: shoes, handbags, clothing, hats, belts, ties, coats, jackets, bed linens, bath linens, and stuffed animals.

All Donations are due by December 11, 2017.

Please help our school help such a worthy cause.

Sincerely,
Sean Dunphy
